Meet Our Board

Melissa Wasserman, PRESIDENT

I have 3 kids in the Edmonds School district, A 4th Grader at Terrace Park Elementary, a 7th grader at BTMS and a Freshman at EWHS. 2 of them are in the Hi-Cap program. I graduated from UC Davis with a B.S. in Animal Science before moving to FL for 17 years, kids and getting an MBA from UCF. Our family moved to the PNW 8 years ago and it feels like home. I am active in the PTA community and look forward to advocating for our highly capable families in this role. Home School: Sherwood Elementary

Angela Foster, Treasurer

I have a 4th grader in the Challenge Program and a 2nd grader in Maplewood, both boys. I grew up in Mukilteo and graduated from Seattle Pacific University in business. I’ve worked in advertising, sales, and marketing. I am currently a real estate agent and stay-at-home mom. I enjoy taking my kids to explore new places and letting them be involved in cooking and gardening despite the messes. As a family, we enjoy hiking, biking, beach time, and skiing. When not looking after the kids, I enjoy snowboarding, scuba diving, and traveling. Home school: Meadowdale Elementary.

Jacqui Deelstra, secretary

I have a 2nd grader in the Challenge Program and a daughter in preschool. I am excited to support the CPA Board and happy to talk to any families considering the program. I’m a graduate of the University of Southern California and the Fletcher School of Law & Diplomacy at Tufts University. I’m lucky to have been able to live in and travel to Africa, Asia, and the Americas through my career in global health and development. I currently work with PATH, a Seattle-based global health organization. In my free time I enjoy gardening, hiking, taking the kids for a ride on my e-bike, and attending my kids’ sporting events. Home School: Sherwood Elementary.
